Teen Therapy in Pasadena

Growing up can be a lot.

And there’s a lot happening beneath “I’m fine.”

Adolescence comes with an incredible amount of change all at once.

It’s school pressure. And friendships shifting. It’s family relationships changing and questions about identity and belonging. Not to mention the volume of expectations about the future getting louder and louder—all while trying to figure out who you are becoming.

Perhaps your teen has been doing everything they can to hold it together—or even to excel. But beneath the surface, they may feel anxious, overwhelmed, unusually hard on themselves, or unable to keep up with school and everything expected of them.

Maybe you’re noticing your teen is:

  • Overthinking school, friendships, mistakes, or other people’s reactions

  • Procrastinating or shutting down when they feel overwhelmed

  • Struggling with school despite being capable and caring about their performance

  • Becoming more irritable, withdrawn, or difficult to reach

  • Having trouble with organization, motivation, or follow-through

  • Questioning their confidence, identity, or sense of belonging

  • Carrying much more internally than they know how to express

What looks like avoidance, a lack of motivation, or not caring may have much more happening underneath. Anxiety, ADHD-related challenges, perfectionism, discouragement, and significant changes can all affect how a teen thinks, feels, and responds.

A place for your teen to feel seen, heard, and known

I provide relational, developmentally responsive therapy for middle and high school students navigating anxiety, school stress, ADHD and executive-functioning challenges, low confidence, relationship difficulties, identity questions, and significant transitions.

Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and tailored to the teen in front of me. Depending on what helps them feel comfortable and engaged, sessions may include conversation, creative expression, storytelling, mindfulness, movement, practical strategies, or deeper exploration of their experiences and relationships.

I’m not here to analyze your teen from a distance or treat them like a problem to solve. I work alongside them to understand what is happening beneath the surface, develop greater self-understanding, and find ways to manage everyday life that fit who they are.

Thoughtful collaboration with parents & caregivers

Parents are important sources of support, and your perspective matters. At the same time, teens need enough privacy and trust for therapy to feel genuinely their own.

We will discuss your concerns, establish goals for therapy, and talk openly about confidentiality and parent involvement. I aim to collaborate with you thoughtfully while protecting the therapeutic relationship your teen needs to engage honestly.

Getting started

I offer in-person teen therapy in Pasadena and secure online therapy throughout California. Weekday evening and Saturday morning appointments are currently available.

Individual sessions are $135. Limited sliding-scale spaces may be available as well.

We can begin with a free 15-minute consultation to discuss what your teen has been experiencing, answer your questions, and determine whether working together could be a good fit.

You don’t need to know exactly what your teen needs before reaching out. A brief consultation gives us a chance to talk about what’s been happening, answer your questions, and consider whether working together might feel like a fit for your family.
